Advisory Meeting – Thursday 3 September 2026
An advisory meeting with charity trustees, CEOs, professionals and Gunnercooke partners to shape the Muslim Charity Law Conference.
On Thursday 3 September 2026, we held an advisory meeting with a diverse group of advisers, including charity trustees, charity CEOs, professionals and partners from Gunnercooke.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how the Muslim Charity Law Conference should be shaped to ensure it is practical, relevant and responsive to the needs of Muslim charities and their trustees, staffs and professionals.
A key focus of the discussion was the importance of giving delegates an opportunity to help shape the content of the conference. We discussed the key legal, governance and operational issues that Muslim charities currently face and considered which areas would provide the greatest practical benefit to attendees.
The advisers shared their experiences and suggestions on potential topics, speakers and formats, including charity governance, trustee responsibilities, regulatory compliance, employment matters, property issues, safeguarding, fundraising, financial management and dealing with Charity Commission requirements.
The feedback and recommendations from the advisory meeting will help inform the final programme, ensuring that the conference reflects the issues and challenges faced by Muslim charities and provides delegates with practical knowledge and tools that they can take back and apply within their own organisations.
